What I've been up to

Hi guys!
So as my semester holidays come to an end, I thought it would be interesting to show you guys what I've done these past few weeks.

Went to IKEA and bought a few things. One of them being an shoe rack. I put it together myself, which I am quite proud of.

Challenged myself with 2 other friends with a 1000 piece puzzle. Decided to do it on a whim, and honestly will never do this again. Will be scared of puzzles for the rest of my life! Took about 5 sitting, about 20 hours in total

Went to Dessert Story to reward ourselves after finishing the puzzle at about 10pm.

Have been addicted to these. Just can't get enough!!

Went bowling for the first time in about 5 years and as you can see from the score... we all suck. The loser had to shout lunch, which ended up being me...

Went to Station Hotel for lunch with my group of friends. Not really going to recommend this place only because the food is quite average and it is quite expensive. They specialize in steak, but again if you're willing to spend more than $30 on a piece of steak then try it out. My friend got a Steak and Kidney pie, and I got pasta

Been obsessed with nanoblocks. They're just like lego blocks but alot smaller. They're really fun to make (compared to the puzzle) and get your mind off things. Great for those who feel the need to fiddle with things and can't sit still.

Have you guys done anything interesting or different you would recommend trying out?

Review: Mizon All In One Snail Repair Cream

Hi guys!
So with the hype in Asia about the benefits of snail extraction, I decided to try a product with snail extraction in it. One of the most popular ones in South Korea is from Mizon.

In general, snail have been known to have healing properties (which is probably why cosmetic/skincare companies wanted this in their products). In skincare, most claim to heal the skin from any damage that has been made (eg. sun damage, wrinkles, scarring)

As you can imagine, the texture to it is quite slimy/sticky. I only use a little bit (like in the picture above) all over the face at night. It has great moisturizing properties, yet it absorbs into the skin completely. It doesn't have a smell to it which is great for those that are sensitive to smells (being fragrance free). I use this more of a night mask, so I have a slightly thicker layer on my skin and have this product as the last product on my skin routine. I've used this for a few months now and I'm confident to say that it has made a difference to my skin. After using this product I've found that the pink/rosiness in my skin has gone down dramatically, little to no flakiness on my face, whenever I break out I find that this heals my spots within 2 days; the bump itself goes down almost completely within 2 days and does not become red (as they usually would), and my old scars have faded to some extent.

Overall 4/5
Pros:
- thick enough to properly moisturize the skin, but light enough to be absorbed into the skin completely
- does what it claims; heals the skin
- calms redness of the skin
- maximizes effects; contains 92% snail mucus
- fragrance free

Cons:
- does contain forms of alcohol
- texture may weird some people out as it is quite different
- may be difficult to find (I got mine from G-market)
- unhygienic packaging

I really do like this product and will most likely to repurchase this. I've used it for quite a while ( a few months) and only used half of it so far, so it will last a while.

Products I've used up + Throwing away

Hi guys!
So here are the things I've used up and some that are going to be thrown out.

Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++
I used this all up and it took me a while. I used this every morning before putting makeup on. This is great for all skin types as it acts as a moisturizer and is light at the same time (great for extremely oily skins). Once I finish my current sunscreen, I will probably go back to this.

JuJu Cosmetics, Aquamoist Whitening Milk
This is a light moisturizer used for both day and night time. It sinks in to the skin quickly and doesn't leave a sticky feeling at all. Not going to buy this again only because I did not see any whitening effects when I used it (which is the reason why I bought it).

SKII Facial Treatment Essence
I did a review on this product previously (click here) and I thought that it's time to throw this out. After I wrote the review, I gave it one more try. I honestly wanted this to work, as there are so many rave reviews on this product. But after two uses I broke out like crazy. If you are thinking about trying this out, make sure you get a sample or a small bottle like I did to make sure you don't break out and waste your money on a product that doesn't work.

Revlon Colorstay Blemish Concealer in Fair
This concealer just doesn't work for me. It didn't cover my blemishes like how I wanted it; as my skin is more on the dry/slightly flaky side it made active blemishes more prominent and made my face look cakey. This would be great for oily skin people as it is quite high coverage so it's good enough to cover even the most stubborn spots and it does not move at all. This product just isn't for me.

Loreal Color Riche Nutrishine Lip balm
I mentioned this is a post (click here) and I have now finished it. It is a nice colour and does moisturize the lips like a lip balm, but I'd rather wear something like Revlon Lip Butters or a proper lip balm. If you want to try something new, then try this product. But if you're looking for something that you'll fall in love with, then pass on this product.

That's all for this post guys! I have alot more products I'm almost done with so look forward to the next empties post.

Liebster and Versatile Awards (again?)

Hi guys!
So a surprise to me, I was nominated twice for the Liebster and twice for the Versatile awards, 4 nominations! Thanks so much to Amanda, Shirely, June, and Xiu  for nominating me for these awards. And without further ado, lets get to it!

11 Facts about me:
1. My current food obsession is nuts. I'm going 'nuts' about almonds and macadamias
2. I wear glasses. My eye sight isn't too bad (around -1.5 ish), but I need them when I'm driving (yes I did pass my drivers test and I have my own car now! whoop whoop!)
3. I go through celebrity crush phases. Right now it's Yoo Ah In and John Park (his voice is amazing!)
4. I never eat breakfast, I know I should. I made a sandwich for breakfast before doing my exam, and I seriously felt like I was going to throw up. Was not a good feeling.
5. I love doing hair for other people. I did hair for two of my friends for clubbing recently, and I was so proud of how it turned out
6. I can not stand techno/electronic (as I call doof doof) music
7. Whenever I have noodles with a soup, it has to be chili or else I add Siracha sauce to it. That stuff is addicting!
8. I'm trying to grow out my hair to see how long it can get. I think it's at the longest it's ever been. Currectly at my bust
9. I'm currently watching 2 dramas (just finished Jang Ok Jung and When a Man's in love. Currently watching You're the best Lee Sun Shin and Gu Family Book, although I am quite behind) and 7 variety shows (Cool Kiz, Shinhwa Broadcast, Mamma Mia, Running man, Hello Counselor, We got Married, Barefoot friends). This is only because I'm on holidays right now and I have 3 weeks off
10. I am not a big alcohol drinker and can't really tolerate alcohol. 2 shots and I'm sleepy, 3 shots and I'm screwed (you don't want to be near me when that happens)
11. I have a pet bird. My parents brought it home randomly (they were quite strongly against having pets) and they probably don't know I'm scared sh*tless of birds. Every time I go near it, it starts chirping.

Review: Laneige Water Sleeping Pack EX

Hi guys!
So from the title of this post, this is a review for the very popular Laneige Water Sleeping Pack.

'Light gel-type texture provides intensive hydration, vitality and brightening effect while restoring skin with deep relaxation'
For all skin types
Alcohol free
Contains:
Beta glucan for skin regeneration effect
Ceramide SLN for moisture loss protection
Hunza Apricot extract for skin purification
Chestnut extract for improving skin texture
(information from Laneige website)

In the tub it does have a light blue tint to it, but it doesn't show on the face. I use this under my normal skin care (as an intensive night cream) and it works wonders! Instructions say to use this under a moisturizer (or you can use it on its own) and leave it on while you sleep, then wash it off when you wake up the next day. I use this about 2-3 times a week as it is winter now (in Australia) and I don't want my skin to dry out as my skin is quite dry but with this I have found that I have not gotten a dry patch/area since using this product, which is quite rare! It definitely lives up to its moisturizing claims. I haven't noticed any brightening effects however, but i have noticed that my skin has become less red the next day. It does have the typical cream scent, but it doesn't bother me.

Pros:
-light weight

-absorbs into skin relatively quickly
-alcohol free
-80ml will last you quite a while
-keeps skin hydrated (during winter)
-great for those who have dry skin or suffer from flakiness
-plastic packaging, but sturdy

Cons:
-comes in a tub, which can be unhygienic
-does have a scent, which can bother those that are sensitive to scents.

I totally understand what the hype is about for this product. It's great for those with super dehydrated skin, and those with normal/oily skin can use this also as it is lightweight and will not irritate skin (alcohol free). I bought this on sasa.com at a relatively cheap price considering how much you get and how long it lasts. I will definitely be repurchasing this and will probably use this for as long as I can! Have you tried any Laneige products?
